Cecil Township is a township in Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is a suburb in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The population was 14,585 at the 2020 census.[2] The township contains the Southpointe suburban business park; companies based there include Ansys, Consol Energy, Millcraft Industries, and Mylan. Cecil Township is served by the Canon-McMillan School District.
 

History

The Stephenson-Campbell House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.[4]

In 2017, the township experienced notoriety when the (now former) chief of one of its volunteer fire companies posted a racist epithet on social media to describe Mike Tomlin.[5][6]
 

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 26.4 square miles (68 km2) of which 26.3 square miles (68 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) or 0.27% is water.
